RFS Value

The RFS values (required fatigue strength) indicate the minimal required fatigue strength amplitude for each node of the FE model. These values can be illustrated discretely or graphically as colored plots in the post processor. They help to clearly represent and to evaluate the results of the analysis. For example the areas which are relevant for the analysis are presented in color corresponding to their RFS values and their stress. Areas with maximum stress usually are depicted in the signal color red. Thus, critical areas can be easily localized via a colored scale.

The evaluation of the construction is performed through a comparison of the RFS value with the actual fatigue strength of the component.
